This is a 3 star hotel that is perfect if you're looking for a good deal, great location, and don't need all the frills.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic. On our second night, they had just re-varnished their wooden floors, and decided that our stay would not be pleasant and so they re-booked us at a nearby hotel, carried our luggage, and wished us well!

Their honesty, hospitality and behavior was incredibly refreshing!

Definitely recommend!

Great location within the Old City walls

I can only say good things about the City of Baku, the people of this beautiful and amazing place. And of course the Noah's Ark Hotel is not the exception.

Is a very nice 3 stars hotel, clean, good service and so on. But the most important is the very kind people that work here, make you to feel at home. Really, i never thought that i was in a Hotel, i was in the house of my friends.

Unique Qualities:Maybe the only bad thing is that don'y have elevator to go the beautiful top floor where is the restaurant, the view is unique. You can see the city and the bay of Caspian Sea. Is really beautiful and unique.

The hotel is in the middle of Old City, a few meters from Maiden Tower and to the Metro Station. You dont need taxi here, the pubs, bars, disco, shops, museums, everything is near. So, for me is the best choice. :)

I visited Baku in winter of 2010. It was the first time that I was flying to Baku taking the rout from Sankt Petersburg to Baku through Moscow. (Direct flight would have costed me much higher). The cost of the airline tickets were 14500 roubles. Already in airplane while still in Moscow I understood that the citizens are very hospitable: I was sitting next to a nice girl with whom we had very pleasant conversation throughout the flight, at the airport of Haydar Aliyev we said our farewell and parted.

I stayed at Noah's Ark Hotel. I recommend it! The prices are acceptable, compared with the prices of other hotels РІР‚"itРІР‚в„ўs clean, silent and cozy. To be honest, I was even fascinated by how cozy and comfortable it was. I made an online reservation in advance. Not to mention, the hotel itself is situated in old city near sightseeing andvery short distance from seaside boulevard РІР‚" all in all, the location is ideal. For that reason I practically didnРІР‚в„ўt use too much public transport, only 2 times I had to get on the bus (very cheap transport!).

However, compared with the public transport the other prices are high. A lot of construction work is being done in the city. That was the first thing to catch my eye. Elite lodgings. During those two days I noticed lots of fashionable cars! Even in Petersburg fashionable foreign cars are not in such abundance as it is in Baku. I also got lucky to see the president’s cortège to pass by in Maybach. School number 6 looks more like a palace than a school. Boutiques are everywhere. Baku without any doubts is a city for those who like to make a splash. Triviality, but nevertheless I would like to point out that sidewalks in Baku mostly consist of figured and not very smooth rocks (square, diamond and etc), so footwear should be comfortable enough.

The city itself is beautiful to distraction...rich old heritage of history and modern spirit at the same time, РЎРѓР С•exist in unison. Especially, during my walk I noticed a fascinating sight: palm tree and birch were growing in the same yard. This is which makes Baku so special. The city of contrast. Fascinating. Baku is a city of lights: everything under city lights is so wonderful! Unfortunately funicular was closed. Luckily, Ferris wheel was exactly what I needed. I regret that two days were not enough for getting to know the city better (I did not visit the museum).. thatРІР‚в„ўs no trouble РІР‚" all the more reasons to visit the city again.

About citizens. While still at airplane I was thinking that this is a Muslim country, thus women should dress appropriately. However, I was surprised to find Azerbaijani girls in short skirts, glamour, walking alone down the street without any escort. There are quite lots of Russians in Baku who live there. I also noticed that most of the population prefer black clothes.

All in all I must admit that Baku left unforgettable memories and expressions in my heart...and now I remember those two days with a sad smile on my face... visiting Baku is enough for falling in love with it for the eternity. Strange nostalgic feelings and immeasurable pull which draws me to return to that magical city is what this city means for me... Jan Baku.

Prior to writing about the hotel I want to tell about my personal experience in hotel service sphere. I worked in the most expensive and luxurious hotels of Turkey for 5 years, and I hold a post in a board of directors at that. That is why I am the first to know how the service should be. For some reasons all of us seek after stars paying attention to the costs at the same time, and we are as always taken in the toils by managers and such programs as Photoshop. But not this time and not about this Hotel. I want begin with the center of the city. The underground station is nearer than 150 meters. The Hotel is surrounded by historical sites, which are necessary to be visited. It is very easy to get to any part of the town. You’ll get all these for free taking into consideration that the costs in the Hotel are much lower than the costs of other hotels with the same star quantities. Now let’s lead melodiously to the Hotel directly. I ordered the transfer service of the Hotel and I had a first-class welcome. The driver had a sheet of paper with my flight number and name.
After this I immediately moved into hotel room although it was not even one o'clock. I also was surprised with the free tea and coffee service directly to the room because you have already a kettle, cups, sugar and tea bags waiting for you in the room. When I decided to use this service I was asked what I wanted to have my tea with at that. They brought me tea with sweets at my request. While I wanted another cup of tea the service staff repeated the order in a few minutes. Of course there is a space television, Wi-Fi the code of which was given to me immediately without waiting for my request in two minutes after my moving into the room. I had a meeting that day, and the staff accompanied me even till the place of meeting in order not to let me lose my way. The weather was awful, and I was offered an umbrella obligingly. In the morning I got up for breakfast which was lasting till 11 o’clock. I can say with certainty that even most of the 4-star hotels of Turkey do not have such big choice of dishes as this Hotel has. One more peculiarity of this Hotel is Restaurant which is situated on the upper floor. Sitting at the restaurant you can contemplate the city. Besides there is one LCD TV set on every wall, so you can watch TV from every table. Everybody smiles at you and are always ready to help you. I was a witness of the situation when a woman came in and asked a permission to call. The staff let her call, and offered an umbrella in spite of she was only a passerby. I stayed at Hotel by the
Р’&Р’ system and asked to order me dinner. In 40 minutes they called me and invited me to the restaurant. As I mentioned before the Hotel has its own taxi and it is much cheaper than taxi in the city. The service staff is very good and I want to thank them for this. They wrote on their website that the provide 5-star service, but I can say that they provide transcendental service for that amount of money we pay in that Hotel.
